Via Bowienet.com News

Benny Benassi began performing this remix track live back in March 2008 and 'DJ' quickly became a big favourite on the UK dance club circuit.

Soon this track will be officially released through Positiva in June 2009: the 30th anniversary of the original single's world wide release in June 1979.

David Bowie "Heroes" in Nike China Commercial

Above is a brand-new commercial featuring the legendary hit song "Heroes" which was co-written by David Bowie and Brian Eno in 1977. This short commercial also features several Chinese Olympic athletes engaged in various competitions as this ad is part of a new Nike China marketing campaign which emphasizes that the right attitude and positive outlook is vital for anyone who hopes to compete successfully at any level in any sport. And, in my opinion, they could not have picked a better song for this inspirational and upbeat campaign, indeed.

Well, of course, "Heroes" has been used in many different advertisements in the past, but this current ad could very well end up being the biggest and most widely distributed of all so far.

Who The Bitch - Who The Fuck!! Vol. 4 Review

Just a few weeks ago I saw a great Japanese underground alternative rock show "Who The Fuck!! Vol. 4" which featured Bo-Peep and Who The Bitch at Club Que in Shimokitazawa on 04-10-08. And both bands were really great and are, indeed, a perfect matchup together live! If you ever get a chance to see either Bo-Peep or Who The Bitch, I highly recommend doing so without hesitation! Really, you will not be disappointed.

'Who The Bitch' Review

who the bitch

The other day I was lucky to get a limited copy of Who The Bitch's first mini-album entitled 'Who The Bitch' and I have not been able to stop listening to it since!!! It consists of six short and very tight pop/punk/rock tunes that upon first listening, immediately demand your attention and start drilling several small but very deep holes into your cranium faster than you can say "What Tha Fuuuuccccc......?!?!" Yes, this relatively new trio just started out in September 2006, but they already have become very extremely dangerous, indeed. Well, their first and only release (so far) came out last July on Sword Records and is not so easy to obtain, but not impossible. So, if you can get a copy, I highly recommend doing so.

Meanwhile, check out their very cool promo video "Cherry" below:

Who The Bitch will appear at Club Que in Shimokitazawa next Thursday night (4-10) along with Bo-Peep and at least one other band. Who The Bitch is ehi (vocals & guitar) Nao (vocals & bass) and yatch (drums).

David Bowie tribute to John Lennon - 'Mother' ` Post Correction

NOTE: This post is a continuation of my earlier post that I released on 02-20-2008 and includes some additional information and slight corrections to my original account of David Bowie's tribute cover of John Lennon's 'Mother':

Bowienet News: Tony Visconti on David Bowie's Tribute Cover of 'Mother' by John Lennon

Tony Visconti: Hi Blam - I've read that string that Robpongi created about Mother. I love that recording and David's vocal performance.

"Robpongi says this, 'And, yes, that is definitely Reeves on lead with Gail and Mike on bass and piano too for sure. Now, I am wondering "why" this was never released as a full-fledged single!?!?!?! Really, this is so exceptionally good, there is no doubt that it would have gone top 10 immediately on release, for sure!' "

"For the record, it was recorded on Nassau (the island). The drummer was Andy Newmark, guitar Reeves, but piano and organ were played by the studio owner. David brought the ADAT tapes back to New York and overdubbed a vocal with me, and Reeves played a solo. I played bass and mixed it on rather primitive equipment (but that's another story). So, no Gail and Mike on that one."

"I've attached some photos from that session. I took the one of David (the guy who loaned us his "Elvis" mic wanted a piccie of David holding it) and May Pang took the other.

And, once again here is the video: David Bowie: "Mother"

WOW! I certainly did not expect such a response from my previous post. Sorry for the confusion, but thank you very much for clarifying the whole story Mr. Tony Visconti.
