New Laowai Film: "This Is Sanlitan" Trailer

Just a couple weeks ago the official teaser trailer for the upcoming laowai indy comedy film entitled "This Is Sanlitan" was released on youtube. This full-length feature film celebrates both foreigners and local Chinese people living in Sanlitan, Beijing.

This Is SanlitanThe main character is "Gary" who is played by Carlos Ottery. Gary has come to China seeking his slice of the Chinese economic dream. However, things don't work out so well and he loses his wife and son and all of his money and becomes quite desperate. How he recovers becomes the main plot of the film. Scheduled for release in late 2013, this movie was directed by Robert Ingi Douglas, and stars Carlos Ottery, Ai Wan, Christopher Loton, Hua Gaoxiang and Cromwell Cheung. Here is a photo of a bright color video screen in Tiananmen Square, Beijing on a recent dangerous day of very high pollution levels. Today the Beijing government announced emergency measures to reduce the heavy smog that has overwhelmed the city. The measures include the temporary shutdown of 100 factories and halting one third of the government vehicles from driving on the streets. Estimates now state that there are some 5 million automobiles in Beijing. There were approximately 3 million autos in the capital in 2008. China's Communist Party has praised Beijing as a showcase capital, but until now has never addressed the city's pollution problems.

During the recent launch party for the ‘Chinese Job’ special Mini car, professional driver Han Yue set a new world record for the tightest parallel parking when he drifted his 'Chinese Job' Mini car into a very tight parking space between two other minis with only 15 centimeters between the cars. Officials from the Guiness Book of World Records confirmed the new mark which beat the previous record by an incredible 7 cm. On April 17, 2012, professional stunt driver Patrik Folco of Italy set the previous Guiness World record in Rome, Italy by parking with only 22 cm. difference between the cars. That mark was thought to have been unbeatable, however Han Yue bested the old record on his first attempt and set the new mark in his seventh attempt:

China's stunning mannequin supermodel Li Ying Zhi appeared at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show last week in a very provocative and super sexy diamond-studded dress valued at 100 million yuan or about 15 million dollars. Apparently, this has caused quite an uproar in China and throughout Chinese social media networks and internet blogs. She is 22 years old and is nicknamed the “Beauty of Qingdao” as she comes from Qingdao in the Shandong Province. Li has appeared in many local and international modeling shows and is a very popular internet celebrity and actress. Below is a short variety news clip from her controversial appearance as a BMW model at the Beijing auto show last week:
