Ever wondered why China's basketball superstar Yao Ming became so tall? According to Time magazine, he was the result of a decades-long experiment that matched up athletes of extraordinary dimensions and abilities. Ming's father was 2.08 meters or about 6'9" tall and his mother was 1.88 (6'2") which is about a foot taller than the average Chinese man. When 'little' Ming was born he weighed over 5 Kg.
