1996 Mario Kart 64 Japanese TV Commercial
Nintendo first developed and released its Mario Kart マリオカート video game as a spinoff from the Super Mario series starting in 1992. Since then there have been nine different types of Mario Kart games published. Nintendo's current game in this series is Mario Kart 7. Just uploaded the other day, here is a nostalgic Japanese TV commercial from 1996 for Nintendo's Mario Kart 64 video game:

Chinese Army Kills Asian Hornets' Nest With Fire

A large colony of giant Asian hornets had killed one man and stung many other people in the small town of Tsz Wan Yuen Tsuen in the Jiangin district of China. The hornets have a very painful sting that is about 6mm (1/4 inch) deep and can include a lethal dosage of venom. Authorities tracked down the insect infestation to a single nest in the village. However, the nest was too large and too high above the ground to manually destroy. So the Chinese army brought in a flamethrower and they killed it with fire:

Kim Jong Il & Om Yun Chol Win Olympic Gold!
"How can any man possibly lift 168kg? I believe the great Kim Jong Il looked over me," Om told the Olympic News Service.

Yesterday North Korea celebrated a very special athletic achievement when weightlifter Om Yun Chol lifted over three times his bodyweight in winning an Olympic Gold medal. At 5-feet tall and weighing 123 pounds, Om stunned the world by breaking the Olympic record with his clean and jerk of 168 kilograms (370.4 pounds).
"I am very happy and give thanks to our Great Leader for giving me the strength to lift this weight," Om said. "I believe Kim Jong Il gave me the record and all my achievements. It is all because of him." O.O
