What a Christmas for David Bowie fans!
Sunday night's much-anticipated first screening of the newly-rediscovered clip of Bowie, Ronson, Woodmansey and Bolder performing The Jean Genie on BBC TV's Top of the Pops saw a packed National Film Theatre struck agog at the majesty of Ziggy in action: in pristine, full-colour TV quality.

Jesus. What a find!
ReplyDeleteThere was a bit of poor footage (bootlegged from the cinema screening) that found its way on to youtube. The cameraman who has the footage was so upset by this that he decided that the youtube footage would be the only thing that people will see and moreover has threatened to destroy his master copy. Condemning comments towards this person is currently not allowed on BWW (Paul Kinder just deletes it).
ReplyDeleteShouldn't be condemning commentary, should be a lively discussion about intellectual property and utilitarianism. Continue.
ReplyDeleteThe last paragraph reads: "The first transmission of Jean Genie since 1973 will be in a BBC4 documentary, Tales of Television Centre, to be broadcast in the new year." \(^0^)/
ReplyDeleteThanks Mr. Pongi!
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome Natalie! (。◕‿‿◕。)
ReplyDeleteDavid Bowie is so farking incredible because he can get any woman AND/OR man that he wants. And with the shape of today's music scene, we all need ALOT more Bowie now.
ReplyDeleteThat was right in the middle of his "closet heterosexual" phase.
