Japanese Woman & US Soldier 1946 Japan Photo
Here is a romantic photo of a young Japanese woman and a US soldier sharing some chocolate and cigarettes together in Japan circa 1946. Photo by John Florea. Apparently, it was illegal for US servicemen to share smokes with local Japanese folks at that time. This photo first appeared in LIFE magazine on December 2, 1946.

And you know they shared more than that for sure!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very powerful and moving image. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can not believe that the hard-willed US soldiers, shook their rules off and shared such a free and forgotten moment with a woman! I am loving the image though and the message it carries! Gotta show it to my guy, who is in the US army:)
