Yao Ming Retires from the NBA

The world's ambassador of basketball and China's best-known professional athlete Yao Ming has retired. At 7' 6" he was the tallest player ever in the NBA. In recent years he was the most productive center with a career average of 19 points per game. Here is a wacky tribute by Next Media Animation TV:

Japan Women's Soccer Wins World Cup!

Inspired Japan shocks Team USA to win first Women's World Cup in penalty kicks

"Japan has won the Women's World Cup, stunning the United States 3-1 in a penalty shootout Sunday night after coming from behind twice in a 2-2 tie.

Shannon Boxx, Carli Lloyd and Tobin Heath all failed to convert for the Americans, who squandered dozens of chances throughout the game and blew a lead just six minutes from winning their third World Cup title."

Japanese Bikini Girls Playing in Shit

Just when you thought that you have seen it all before in Japan, along comes yet another WTF image of some Japanese Bikini Girls playing in shit:



Actually the above is some artwork by the well-known contemporary artist Makoto Aida and is entitled "Shit by Jomon-type Monster (2003)":

An ephemeral outdoor ceramic piece made with art students and volunteers, Shit by Jomon-type Monster (2003), consisted of mounds of coiled, brown clay that simultaneously resembled gigantic feces and the pots left by Japan’s pre-historic Jomon civilization. Intentionally crude, the work was an embrace of failure...
