WTF Japan Zoo Escape Drill w/ Zebra?!?!
A zebra is on the loose at Tokyo's Tama Zoo, and some 60 staff are primed and ready to try and catch him.
On Friday approximately 60 staff members at the Tama Zoological Park in Tokyo, Japan conducted its annual WTF Zoo Earthquake Drill with Some Dork Wearing an Escaped Zebra Animal Outfit. The emergency setting is that there was a big earthquake that destroyed a wall next to the zebra cage. The zebra then broke free and the staff evacuated the park. Then the staff surrounded the escaped animal and shot it with a tranquilizer dart, which made the convict public pet go to sleep. Then the escapee was recaptured. Here is a short bizarre BBC News video of this somewhat very unusual safety drill entitled "This Is Just About the Weirdest Thing We've Seen All Day":
For more information, please refer to the recent history of the popular Tama Zoo Escape Drill. A similar annual exercise is also conducted at Tokyo's Ueno Zoo.
