Because China: People's Liberation Army in Action!

Because China: People's Liberation Army in Action!

XXX Large Size

For many years up until 2001, the U.S. Army recruited young men and women with the well-known phrase of "Be All You Can Be". And prior to that they used the phrase "Today's Army Wants to Join You" to attract new GIs to the ranks. Well the above WTF photo of China's People's Liberation Army in action suggests that the Chinese may have also borrowed those same US recruiting slogans, right?!?!

NOPE.

Because China.

Taiwan's Kaohsiung Stadium 100% Solar Powered

Taiwan's Kaohsiung Stadium 100% Solar Powered

Here are some cool photos of Taiwan's 100% solar-powered coliseum Kaohsiung National Stadium. Opened in 2009 and with a capacity of 55,000, this super solar bowl was host to the 2009 World Games. It has some 8,844 solar panels that power 3,300 lights to illuminate the track and field. Apparently it only takes six minutes for the entire lighting system to activate. The architect for this sun-powered stadium is Toyo Ito. For more information, please visit the stadium's official website.
