California Police Issue Real Warning About Satirical Internet Creation Pedobear
In case you’ve been living in an Internet-free cave,
Pedobear is a character made popular by the
4chan image forums that is frequently displayed or referenced when someone is being a little too weird about children on the Internet and basically amounts to one big Internet in-joke, in no way supportive of pedophilia. Despite this, California’s
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department issued a “public safety information bulletin” describing the dangers of Pedobear.
The Californian sheriff’s office didn’t get the memo that the people who make mention of Pedobear are Internet nerds, not actual pedophiles (surely if real pedophiles identified themselves with such a symbol, it would be a godsend to law enforcement.) They released a pamphlet (unintentionally) humorously entitled “A Seemingly Innocent Menace: An Introduction to ‘PEDO BEAR.’” A news station even reported on the “menace” in the segment in the video above.

Earlier this week, a computer security company known as Mandiant released a report (PDF) that alleges China's Military conducted numerous cyber attacks and committed grand theft of top secret data from many U.S government and U.S. companies' computer networks. The report claims that this blitzkreig originated from the Shanghai-based PLA Unit 61398 which is located inside this building:

Here is a truly incredible photo of some Japanese nuclear protesters standing right up against the Japanese police. Notice how some of the protesters are sharing their umbrellas with the cops! Amazing.
Also today the independent parliamentary committee known as the Fukushima Nuclear Accident Independent Investigation Commission (FNAIIC) released a highly critical report which concluded that the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear disaster was “man-made” and the result of “collusion” between Japan’s regulatory bodies and Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). This report also "blames Japanese culture for the fundamental causes of the disaster" and comes at a time when it could further inflame the overall distrust of the government and significantly empower the anti-nuclear movement in Japan. On Sunday, the Ohi nuclear plant was switched back on against widespread anti-nuclear sentiment and protests that continue in Tokyo.
