New David Bowie Single & Album Comeback
On this day his 66th birthday, January 8th 2013, David Bowie has made a long-awaited, surprise comeback into the spotlight with the release of a new single "Where Are We Now?" and a pre-release announcement of his upcoming new ablum entitled "The Next Day" on his official website and iTunes.
NEWS UPDATE: Via iTunes Store Top 10 Songs January 8, 2013 "Where Are We Now?" is currently #1 on the UK and Sweden iTunes charts. Also it is now rated at #2 in Finland and #4 in The Netherlands.
Here is the music video "Where Are We Now?"
Here is the official press release:
New York, NY--January 8, 2013--In the early morning hours of Tuesday the 8th January, Iso/Columbia Records released a new single by David Bowie titled 'Where Are We Now?' exclusively launching in the iTunes Store in 119 countries. David Bowie's first new album in ten years and his 30th studio recording, THE NEXT DAY is also available as a pre-order on iTunes with a wide release scheduled for March. January the 8th is of course David Bowie's birthday, a timely moment for such a treasure to appear as if out of nowhere. Throwing shadows and avoiding the industry treadmill is very David Bowie despite his extraordinary track record that includes album sales in excess of 130 million not to mention his massive contributions in the area of art, fashion, style, sexual exploration and social commentary. It goes without saying that he has sold out stadiums and broken ticket records throughout the world during this most influential of careers. In recent years radio silence has been broken only by endless speculation, rumor and wishful thinking ....a new record...who would have ever thought it, who'd have ever dreamed it! After all David is the kind of artist who writes and performs what he wants when he wants...when he has something to say as opposed to something to sell. Today he definitely has something to say. Produced by long term collaborator Tony Visconti, 'Where Are We Now?' was written by Bowie, and was recorded in New York. The single is accompanied by a haunting video directed by Tony Oursler which harks back to David's time in Berlin. He is seen looking in on footage of the auto repair shop beneath the apartment he lived in along with stark images of the city at the time and a lyric constantly raising the question Where Are We Now? "The moment you know, you know you know" resonates from the new single's lyric. Now we all know...David Bowie has been in the recording studio...just when we least expected it!!And here are the track listings for the new album:

How Can Japanese Sumo Survive?
Via Next Media Animation TV December 27, 2012
For the past 10 years or so, professional Japanese Sumo wrestling has seen a steady decline in popularity as it has suffered from fixed matches, links to organized crime, bar room brawls in Roppongi, a marijuana scandal and illegal gambling on baseball etc. The failure to produce a Japanese superstar wrestler has also driven away many long-term fans as well.
So how can Japanese Sumo survive? Well, Taiwan's Next Media Animation TV has some funny ideas:

Hot Japanese Model Mitsu Dan in Sexy Promo
Via Rocket News 24 December 26, 2012
Last week the very hot Japanese model Mitsu Dan engaged in a super sexy promotion of the DVD release of "Safe House" or "Dangerous Run デンジャラス・ラン" (Japanese title) at the Hotel Ibis in Roppongi, Tokyo. During her promo appearance, Dan called herself “Dangerous Dan” and answered some "dangerous" questions in like fashion. On which movie star would she like to have a date with she replied “I’d like to make out with Ryan Reynolds while being spanked by Denzel Washington.”
And in case you may now be somewhat interested in this promiscuous promoter, she is currently starring in the Japanese film entitled "Be My Slave" or 私の奴隷になりなさい in which she plays the role of an office lady (OL) turned sex slave. Here is the official Japanese trailer for this film:

VPN's "Midnight Cooking" Enka TV Show
Vermillion Pleasure Night was a very funny, offbeat late-night TV comedy show that was so popular some DVDs of the show were released as well as a CD of the show's many soundtracks. In addition to that, a complete collection of all the Vermillion Pleasure Night show segments was released in early 2009. For a TV show that was only on the air for about a half year in 2000, that's really something special, indeed.
In this short skit, two beautiful Japanese "cooking teachers" ham it up while singing karaoke-style enka and showing us how not to prepare seaweed soup, pickles and curried rice on VPN's "Midnight Cooking" TV segment. This version includes English subtitles and will probably be taken down soon so check it out!

From Emotionless Japan "Tailly" Is Unveiled
In the past two years or so, we have seen some really creative, high-tech Japanese "communication" devices unveiled like Japan's New Communication w/ Yourself Invention, Japanese Cats Ears For "Communication" and Japanese Virtual Web Sex Technology which features the "PenisTron" and a "Communication Hole Rider" that allows users to anonymously experience virtual sex via the internet. It's all somewhat complicated but apparently we humans "can still have sex because it's just data." O.O
Now a company known as Kiluck, which handled the production of the “necomimi” or "cat's ears", brings us the all new excitement communication device known as "Tailly", the tail that wags when you get excited! This has to be seen to be believed:
From Kiluck's official kickstarter page we found the following description: "Tailly is a wearable wagging tail which reacts to the user’s heart rate. When you wear Tailly, you’ll radiate cuteness and happiness!"
Mmmmmkkkaaaayyy, so what about just smiling, laughing and actually saying your true feelings instead?
Nope.
Why?
Because Japan.
We expect this device to become very popular, very quickly in Japan when released. It will be available in various colors:

Flying Japanese Salarymen To The Rescue!
Japan is good at defying the law of gravity. You may recall the
Yowayowa Camera Woman aka Natsumi Hayashi who first started out with Japanese cat photos and then become the internet's most attractive levitating lady!
Now Rocket News 24 has reported on some Flying Japanese Salarymen To The Rescue!
Actually this is part of a new photo album entitled "Flying Has Changed My Life – Solaryman" by award-winnning photographer Yuki Aoyama on sale on December 12th for 1260 yen (US $15.33). About this latest collection, Aoyama said this:
After the Tohoku earthquake last year, I put my photography project on hold, but continued to upload photos of flying salarymen that I had already taken to Twitter and other Internet sites. My photos were reblogged and shared thousands of times and gained a lot of buzz all over the Internet. At the same time, Japan was facing hard times after the earthquake, its people at a standstill. I thought maybe if people saw my photos of energetic office workers, happily flying through the air, it would lift everyone’s spirits and inspire the people of Japan to persevere through a difficult time. To me, this was just one of thousands of photographing projects I’ve taken on, but to everyone else, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that would turn into a lasting memory. With that in mind, the workers I photographed earnestly tried their best while having their picture taken. You can purchase this and other photo albums by Yuki Aoyama on his internet store. And be sure to see more of Aoyama's work on his official website.
